There was an opportunity this past Wednesday night for the fans to mix and mingle with team players and officials in a post regular season party. Our own Kevin Nuthead of Westside 109 helped to arrange the event with Michael Oki for the Silverbacks team at The Brewhouse Cafe in Little 5 points, Atlanta Georgia.
A good time was had by all as a great season highlight dvd created by Steven Hutton and Rhino Video played in the background. Food and Beverages were provided by the Atlanta Silverbacks brass to the season ticket holders as a show of gratitude for their investment into the team. A good turn out of players were there to sign autographs and talk to the fans personally all night long.
My own personal enjoyment was getting to talk to individual players about the season and beyond. There was the disappointment of this season where we fell short of the playoffs but now was the opportunity to tell the players personally of how we appreciated the effort they put forth to fight for those last playoff places. There was also talk of the promise of keeping this team together as much as possible and drive for honors in the upcoming season

Members of the team now able to relax and mingle after a tough season
New guys Aaron Paye, Duke Hashimoto, Sean Cameron and Brent Sancho spoke on their adjustment to coming to Atlanta and fitting into the team. They had challenges attempting to blend in quickly, but all of them looked forward to the new season with the Silverbacks now that they have had a little time to fit in. The fans will have a lot to do with how welcome they will feel in the coming season.

The new guys were anxious to get the views of the fans
We spoke extensively with team captain, Rodrigo Rios and he also expressed great appreciation for the support of the fans and especially of Westside 109. He really wants Atlanta to be successful and spoke at length about continuing to help the fan base grow in the coming year and he looks forward to being apart of the team for another season coming up. Speaking to him first hand was an enlightening and enjoyable experience.

Captain Rios was very appreciative and active with all the fans at the party
The gaffer, Jason Smith, also spoke of trying to rebound next year.He promised to keep us up to date with any new acquisitions. He did tell of frustrations from the events of the schedule and losing key players, but his spirits were up about the upcoming campaign. Many fans expressed to him that we would be behind the team 100% in the coming season and he expressed gratitude for our continued support. It is what helps the team get through the tough times.

The gaffer spent time with us all and talked of the promise of next season.

Signed team ball given away to a lucky fan!
There were many conversations from the night had by many. But why not go to our forum thread on this subject to express your own experiences with players and officials you spoke with that night > Forum
